In Memoriam: William Durbin - Mobility Sales Associate

William Bill Durbin M.C. Mobility Systems Sales AssociateIt is with great sadness, that M.C. Mobility Systems announces the passing of our dear friend William Durbin. Bill worked as a sales associate for M.C. Mobility Systems for nearly 15 years, and his loss has been felt deeply by both his associates here and the many customers who have been touched by Bill's unique brand of kindness and compassion.

Born September 23, 1946, Bill's life was always lived to the fullest. He was a hard worker, who also knew how to have fun, enjoying golf, fishing, and duck hunting. A proud family man, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly trips to the flea market with his beautiful grandchildren.

Professionally, Bill was focused on helping people, above all else. Bill worked in the mobility industry for over 20 years. Nearly 10 of those years were spent with us at M.C. Mobility Systems at our Plain City location. Bill got no greater joy than by helping his customers regain independence and mobility. Bill was the type of salesmen who would call on his customers often to make sure things were going well, and if Bill had to call on someone, he made sure to make three or four other stops along the way. His fierce loyalty and devotion to his customers is hard to come by in sales and serves as an incredible example to the rest of the staff at M.C. Mobility Systems.

Bill passed away Monday, February 8, 2010, and is survived by his son Erick who also works for M.C. Mobility Systems of Columbus. Private services will be held this week. We ask that your thoughts and prayers go out to Bill's family at this difficult time, as well as his family here at M.C. Mobility Systems. We hope to honor Bill with our continued commitment to exceed our customers' expectations, just as he did for so many years.

I feel like I have know Bill forever. But in reality only 7 or 8 years. He will be in my heart forever. I will miss his daily emails, his 'off color' jokes, our banter and his yearly Christmas candle. My heart breaks for Eric and the Durbin family. You will be in my prayers. You're dad was a legend in our industry and a man to admire. Thanks for the laughs big guy! Love you...Cassy

I am so sorry to hear the news about Bill. He was so sweet and very helpful. Bill helped me buy my first wheelchair accessible van. He couldn't have been nicer to my Mother and I! He will be missed.

In the short time that I have known Bill he has made me laugh when ever I would call. Whether it was to change the color of his GoGo Elite Traveller (even though it came with multi-colored shrouds) or to bust my chops because his order went to another location (only to find out I wasn't the one who placed his order). He was very sweet, had a kind heart, and was always there to crack a joke when you were feeling down. You will be sadly missed Bill! May you all be in my thought and prayers as I remember the great man Bill was. God Bless you all and take care.
